1. to describe common causes of fits, faints in children and to identify red flag features
2. to review the management of children with epilepsy
3. to distinguish normal variation in development and to recognise when paediatric referral is needed


1. Differentiate common primary headache disorders (migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache) based on clinical history and examination findings.
2. Recognise "red flag" features in patients presenting with headache that suggest serious secondary pathology requiring urgent investigation or referral.
3. Apply evidence-based management strategies for acute migraine in primary care, including appropriate use of analgesics, triptans, and antiemetics.
4. Outline indications for preventive therapy in recurrent headache disorders and initiate first-line prophylactic treatments in primary care.
5. Identify when referral to neurology or urgent imaging is indicated in patients presenting with headache.
